Grandpa's Lost Legacy is a VR story of old, unsolved mysteries and ancient ruins. We designed it to try to prevent naive guests from becoming too stuck or confused at any point. To this end, we had a firefly particle system, the brightest moving object in the scene, that would constantly be flying from the tip of the player's staff to their next objective. The player's main goal is to trace patterns on the stones, which are all relatively simple.

The staff is made of two parts, body is the branch and on top is a gem which can attract fireflies.
We puts trackers on guests' wrists to simulate hands.
4 MYSTERIOUS STONES
We have four mysterious stones with symbols on it. These patterns stand for West, East, South and North. The last one has a hand print needs players to put their hand on to rotate. I used Unity, Maya and Substance Painter to make the models and textures.
When guests solve all four stones' puzzles, all these stones will raise up and combine together becoming the last stone. It has many floating runes on it. This image is rendered in Unity.
We have two environments, one is ruins with four stones, another is the rebuilt of the ruins.
